Laura is a ceramicist, she works conceptually but understands the importance of material process, often experimenting and integrating traditional ceramic practice with new techniques. She has a special interest in the positive impact working with clay can have on our wellbeing.
Since graduating from a degree in 3D Design at Manchester School of Art in 2012 she has been facilitating ceramics sessions at various organisations including Start in Salford, Manchester Metropolitan University, Poynton Pottery, Venture Arts and Moss Studio.
Alongside teaching Laura actively develops her artistic practice, exhibiting and collaborating with a wide range of artists and organisations. She is a member of Makers Dozen, a dynamic collective of Manchester based makers. She is also a member of Para Lab, a collaborative platform uniting artists, makers, and material scientists in making sessions, field trips, and workshops.

March 2022 Trading Station residency. Undertaking a residency working with groups to develop porcelain tea bowls inspired by works in the Trading Station exhibition at MAG and exploring the importance of the tea break on our wellbeing.
Creative Share
Jan 2020-May 2022, Pure Innovations, Artist in Residence, a ‘creative share’ residency, sharing skills with a group of artists with learning disabilities. Investigating Edwardian plant collectors and flora in Vernon Park. This culminated in several exhibitions around Stockport and Manchester.
DIYAS
Dec 2013, Lionel Dobie Project HQ peer lead arts school residency at Lionel Dobie, a project space for curators.
Bulgaria-
July 2011 Tetevan and Sofia. Placement in Bulgaria, learning traditional crafts from local crafts men and women to bring back and share with UK practitioners.
