Laura worked with Manchester Cares and Start Inspiring Minds to make tea bowls inspired by the Trading Station exhibition. The groups considered the importance of tea breaks and slowing down, then made their own tea bowls by mould making and slip casting, noticing the parallels with these ceramic processes and pouring tea. Working with clay naturally created pauses to reflect and take stock. Angela a participant observed: “I like that you can just switch off. Sometimes it winds me up because it’s so slow but it teaches you patience.”
